Capt. David Holmes

David has spent most his life developing a deep understanding of the countless rivers ranging from the North Shore of Superior, to Southern Wisconsin, and everywhere in between. Located just North of the Twin Cities area, David is the owner of David Holmes Guiding LLC, and is a full-time guide on the Upper Mississippi and Upper St Croix River for Musky and Smallmouth Bass. His tool of choice for this shallow river is a jet boat, which provides a unique and exciting way of chasing these fish. David is a USGC Certified captain with his CPR certification, and has a passion for showing people the incredible fishing these untouched, shallow rivers have to offer. “My Musky career started with a fly rod, and even after quickly adding conventional tackle to the arsenal, I was always looking for a bait that provided the same lifelike action and effectiveness as a fly in swift moving rivers. The Beaver Bait filled that gap perfectly. From spring to fall, the Beaver always has a spot in my box and is unrivaled in versatility.”

Kevin Cochran

Kevin Cochran is a northern Minnesota musky guide in the Bemidji/Cass Lake areas since 2004 and has completed over 1600 guide trips. Kevin has placed and won tournaments in the local Bemidji/Cass Lake Muskie Inc chapter and the Professional Musky Tournament Trail. He currently writes articles for Musky Hunter Magazine and speaks at various muskie venues. Over the years he has developed a strategic game plan for mapping out his season based on the different area lakes’ peak times, solunar affects, weather, water temps, and many other factors. Kevin is a devout believer in Christ, husband, father, and teacher in addition to running his guide service.

Kevin and his clients have been quietly putting giant fish in the boat that have fallen victim to a beaver over the past three years. Many of the beavers that see action in Kevin’s boat are highly modified baits that fill a specific role.

“The versatility of the beaver make it truly the most unique and sought after bait on the muskie market. I have beavers that are specifically modified for casting, jigging, and trolling. The ability of the beaver to adapt in any environment or preferred angling tactic is what sets it apart. Lastly, beaver baits call giant muskies that have been exposed to angling pressure. Simply put, these are the baits that clever giants cannot resist.”

Andy Grimm

image002.png

I have been involved in musky fishing for 22 years, with experience in guiding, tournaments, co-writing for Musky Hunter Magazine, Muskie Inc chapter representative, and photos featured in Musky Hunter, social media promotions, and Detroit Lakes Chamber of Commerce website and magazine.  I am also an outdoor educator actively involved with area youth and law enforcement.  My reputation is built on trust, integrity and strong values and I believe my service to others is one of hard work, attention to detail and preparing for success.

I’ve been guiding in Northern Wisconsin for 15+ years under IFIGUR8 Guide Service and since 2015, have spent more time guiding in Northern and Western MN.  In 2020, I partnered with Kevin Cochran’s Guide Service in Bemidji, MN.

I am very appreciative of the support I receive from Beaver’s Bait LCC and Mr. Boyum and it’s a privilege to share my knowledge of fishing with others.  The Beaver bait is very versatile and can be used in all different lakes and river systems, as well as water depth.  My favorite techniques are pull/pause in open water or speed retrieve in shallow weeds. The best part is there is no wrong way to fish a Beaver…just keep casting.

Austin Wiggerman

IMG_6957.JPG

My name is Austin Wiggerman, and for as long as I can remember, my life has involved the outdoors and spending time on the water. Chasing muskies has been an inevitable destination for me as catching bass had lost its excitement and pike no longer gave me the adrenaline rush it once did. Catching my first musky changed my life forever as I have now shaped my entire life around chasing these fish and sharing my experience, knowledge, and the excitement of the sport with others. Beaver baits line of lures has been one of the more truly innovative baits to come to market. Between its versatility, extremely natural presence in the water, and proven fish catching ability, I could not be more excited to be a part of the beaver team. There is something to be said about a bait that can be handed to someone fishing for the first time, or someone who is a seasoned angler, and have no doubt about the lure producing fish.

For 2021, I will be guiding muskies full time, mainly out of Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin, however I will be spending the usual warm water period we experience in this area to guide around Minnesota. I have always enjoyed sharing this sport with others, and there is no better way to do so than sharing the boat for a few days chasing muskies.

John & Ashely Holmgren

“We are both die hard musky anglers that enjoy being on the water and sharing this passion together and with others. We have an angling addiction that can only be pacified with the next bite”. John owns and operates Tooth Seeker Guide Service a multi species guide service that primarily focuses on musky and walleye. “ My favorite part about guiding is spending time on the water creating friendships and educating anglers on specific patterns and techniques to help them put more fish in the net”.

Ashley is an avid angler and is helping pave the way to the vastly growing future of women in the fishing industry. She is a writer for Musky Hunter Magazine and is heavily involved in promoting women in the outdoors. “I just simply love fishing. It’s a fun but challenging sport and is so rewarding”.

Together they have taken their love of musky fishing and each other to the next level and have created Devoted Angling. A husband wife fishing show that is focused on showing other how to share and grow the same passion! “We love it so much that we figured it would be really cool to help spread the word and show couples that it is fun to fish together”.

“Beaver Baits are a very diversified bait and are in our arsenal at all times of the year. Weather it’s over open water or over mid summer cabbage and rocks there is always a musky ready to chomp a beaver bait”!

Isaiah Hahn

Isaiah Hahn’s enthusiasm for muskie fishing is very evident as soon as you meet him. His love for fishing started when he was young, fishing alongside his dad and older brother. Isaiah is owner and operator of “You Bet!” Fishing Guide Services out of Park Rapids, MN. Isaiah spends most of his time guiding in north-central Minnesota from Park Rapids to Leech Lake, as well as the Detroit Lakes area, and everything in between. He enjoys sharing his experience and knowledge doing seminars and guest speaking at local muskie chapter events and community education programs. Isaiah relishes his time helping at the Minnesota Musky School on Leech Lake as both a guest speaker and guide. He also enjoys volunteering his time with the Minnesota DNR where he assists with muskie surveys.

“Besides being a fisherman, I am first a husband, a father with two young boys, and an educator. My amazing wife, Beth, supports me in living my passion for fishing and helping others in this sport by operating my guide business. Muskie fishing is my obsession and passion, but my “real job” is teaching, which I enjoy tremendously. I have been teaching and coaching since 2009.”

“The deep enthusiasm and dedication that I have for the sport of muskie fishing is quite difficult to explain. The reward that comes with catching a giant muskie is just unmatched to anything else in freshwater fishing and the ability to share this with clients is what I enjoy the most. I am grateful and super excited to be part of the Beaver Team. This bait flat-out catches fish. It is an extremely productive bait in my boat year-in and year-out. The beaver is a super versatile bait that every muskie angler should have in its arsenal”

Michael Hanson

Michael Hanson of Namekagon Angling Guide Service is a full time fishing guide based out of NW Wisconsin.  With access to both “action” and “trophy” waters, Michael spends most of his time looking for the biggest fish that swims across six different counties. When the Baby Beaver was added to the arsenal, it was apparent that it was going to make fish eat, even when they didn’t want to. From “ripping” a lake edition over cabbage, to slowly working a lightly weighted version down a deep break, this bait is as versatile as it gets in the musky world.  This bait moves more than any other bait on the market when it’s paused, always “flowing” and “breathing”.  First time and seasoned musky anglers have seen the power of the Baby beaver in my boat. There’s only one way to wrongfully fish a beaver, by not keeping it wet!
